The Professors

  • Joe Bunn

    Joe Bunn

Joe Bunn started his DJ career at the age of 14 in his hometown of Wilson, NC. His mom used to drive him to gigs in her wood-paneled Jeep Wagoneer! He did shows all throughout high school, college at UNC-Chapel Hill, and eventually moved to Raleigh, NC in the late 90s where he started Bunn DJ Company. The company grew from a couple of DJs to a staff of 15 of the area’s best mobile DJs. The company does about 400 weddings a year and another 200+ private, corporate and charity events. They also now have offices in Charleston, SC, Charlotte, NC and Richmond, VA.

Joe has been on the board of both ILEA (International Live Events Association) and NACE (National Association of Catering & Events). In addition, he has been a speaker and writer for many trade publications including Mobile Beat, DJ Times, and Disc Jockey News.

Joe still DJs almost every weekend, but in recent years, has been hired by DJs all across the U.S. and beyond to help their business in every aspect from branding to booking to sales. He recently released his first training DVD “Marketing the Music”.

  • Mike Walter

    Mike Walter

Mike Walter is the proud owner of Elite Entertainment, a Multi-System DJ Company in New Jersey that has been selected by TheKnot.com and WeddingWire.com as a top Entertainment company in the country. What Mike is most proud of is that his own company exemplifies the message he has been preaching to the DJ Industry for years: There IS a way to combine Quality and Quantity.

Mike’s DJing career began in his hometown of Queens, New York in 1984. He is a graduate of the Connecticut School of Broadcasting and has a communications degree from Union County College. Mike worked with Star DJs from 1988 to 1993 where he helped to develop a staff of over 50 by training new recruits and handling an increasingly complex schedule. In early 1993, Mike became a partner in a much smaller Mobile DJ company, Elite Entertainment. He quickly had an impact on the Elite staff, imposing his high standards of MCing and DJing. Mike bought out his partner in 1998 and Elite Entertainment has continued its growth (20 emcees and 1200+ annual events) and sets the standard for excellence in New Jersey.

Mike has always believed in training talent from within and he spreads his message by speaking at DJ Expos and writing for many of the nationwide DJ publications. His DVD and CD-rom package entitled “Training Your Next Great DJ” and his book: “Running Your Multi-Op” are all available at www.DJMikeWalter.com
